The meaning of Life?

So my friend asked this question?

What is the answer to the age old question? What is the meaning of life? Allow me to rephrase, what is the meaning of life, as you see it? Personally, I do not yet have even an opinion....except there is no real meaning of life.

I hope that this stimulates him to find his answer...

The answer may be just as distinct as a set of fingerprints. Even your opinion lends to the notion that all life has meaning. You used the word “real”. In a sense you acknowledge that there is a meaning, however you have yet to find it or have yet to discern MZ’s meaning of life. We only search for things that exist, it would be illogical to look for something that does not.
For me I would say there are a number of things that give meaning to my life. In a general sense or if I were to give a one word answer it would be “enrichment”.
Existence is life in its simplest meaning, to live is to give meaning to that existence, that is life. So when I use the word enrichment I look at it as a way of increasing the value of family, intellect, health, beauty, inner peace, & spirituality; all of which are meaningful in life.
I believe that we are all part of a collective being interconnected through the individual acts that give meaning to our lives, our closest family & friends and to strangers at the farthest reaches of the universe.
From the simplest smile we put on a child’s face to the next advancement in science or medicine that enriches life for even one more day…The meaning of life is the meaning you give it.

No airport security? For real?

How many of you would fly on a commercial airliner if Security Screening was NO LONGER a requirement? You buy a ticket and just get on, no ID Checks, X-Ray, Metal Detector, Explosive Trace Detection, Explosive Detection for Checked Baggage, nada, zip, no security at all. I'm interested in what real people think, not what the media wants you to think.

DARE to tell the Truth...Daddy did you ever use drugs?

So your 5th Grader comes home after their first DARE class and they ask you the million dollar question....Daddy/Mommy did you use ever use drugs? Yikes! What do you say? Well I can tell you that I told them the truth. Yes, I tried it when I was a teenager. I told them the whole story so that they could see that it was all a waist of time. I was hanging some friends and from the time we decided we were going to "try" and buy some marijuana until the first puff we waisted two good hours. Walking from  the halfway decent neighborhood of Ridgewood Queens to the not so friendly Bushwick, way back in 86 Wilson and Hancock were kinda rough after midnight. "You member" in my best George Lopez voice. Now it was my first time and I was not familiar with the whole ritual and breakdown of seeds vs buds, rolling papers vs Phillie's and all that other stuff. So we finally get back to 77 Park. The folks in the know rolled up, added some fire puffed and passed and........nothing. I waited puffed some more, waited puffed some more still nothing. Never touched the stuff again. It just didn't do anything for me. Now everybody else said they was "flying high" but I never felt a thing. I have to tell you my girls laughed. We were sitting at the dinner table which happens to be my bully pulpit. I made for valuable family time after dinner. Serious content but we shared a laugh or two. They learned that dad does know what it's like to be a teen. Most of all I was honest and straight forward and they knew it. So I told them when and if the time ever comes as an adult it was their decision to make. For now it is most definitely not cool and most importantly forbidden. DARE does a great job helping our kids learn and how to say no but it's up to use to drive it home.

So what do you think? Share your story

Out of the Mine but caught between a Wife and a Mistress

Forgive and forget? Lo Siento...Rule number 1 never ever let your mistress know where you work just in case you get trapped for 2 months and all the media in the world is there to blow up your spot. I think he has been punished enough. Give the poor guy a break. He has shown unbelievable courage in deciding to be rescued.

Martydom...it's not just for the religious types

There is a new Martyr in town, he is 40ish, maybe an only son, was a mama's boy, and just can't stop feeling sorry for himself. You know him, he probably lives next door. Works on your floor, delivers your Poland Spring. Maybe the UPS or FedEx guy, chances are you might have been married to one or still are. Facebook has highlighted yet another obscure social phenomenon...men who cry and want to tell everybody about it.

It's really not new. We all grew up with a friend, cousin or some other frie-lative that was always crying about everything. Well today their right about that 36 - 40 a child of a babyboomer. They are very easy to recognize, it may sound something like this..."F her she is this, that, can't believe her after all I gave up for her" sounds about right. Or there is the forever popular, "after all I did, they just used me, what do I have to do to get respect". I think you get the general idea.

What happens to a man that he stops being a man? I call it the Johnny Fontane Syndrome. They just wanna feel sorry for themselves, "woo is me". Like Vito says..."You can act like a man"!

Tell me folks is just that I'm a cold hearted so and so, let me hear it...

Welcome to the Resistance

Hey Brochachos, que pasa...So the ladies are sharing their comments about men who "cry" and moan about life's tragedies. Like your girl leaving you for another, your boss messing with you, how school and career didn't pan out. How much time you have to spend doing family stuff when what you really want is to play with your buddies. Some made comments about men who cry with tears. My original post was more about men whining then about actual shedding of tears.

So lets hear it. How different is it from the perpetual nagging from seniorita suavecita?
